May 2017: Kuta, Bali

I wanted to experience some diving in Bali while we were there, especially as I have no idea when we will make it back!

We didn’t arrange any time to visit the Gili Islands so I booked a diving trip from Bali instead. I did a boat dive about 20 minutes off of Kuta and while I dived David did some snorkelling. I was hoping to see some reef sharks and turtles however, I was very unfortunate and due to sea conditions on the day, the sea life was hiding away! The visibility was not too good either but these are the risks with diving trips – you’ll never know the conditions until the day! Nothing is ever guaranteed! David was lucky to see a turtle swimming around on the surface though!

Quite a lot of the coral reef was dead too and we did see some rubbish floating around which was a shame and upsetting.

On the upside the diving instructor was great and I would highly recommend the diving company to anyone. We booked through Manta Manta diving and I would definitely book other dives with them in future. Next time I’ll try and dive with the Manta Rays!
